Developer terms ✅
Placeholder. This is a short, good-faith stub so the access flow can ship. It is not final legal text and is not legal advice; HCVC will have counsel review and replace it before relying on it. Version: 2026-06-23.
LifeCare.ID is operated by HCVC (hcvc.net) ("HCVC", "we", "us"). By requesting developer access to LifeCare.ID (the developer documentation, the sandbox, and the APIs, SDKs, and sample code, together the "Developer Surfaces"), you agree to the following.
1. Zero PHI to LifeCare.ID
You will never send a health-data value to any LifeCare.ID endpoint. LifeCare.ID handles only identifiers, public keys, tokens, scopes, and consent metadata. Health data flows directly between a data source and the requesting app, never through LifeCare.ID. See Security & compliance and Procurement & compliance.
2. Sandbox use
The sandbox is for building and testing only. Use synthetic data; do not put real patient data, real credentials, or any production secrets into it. Sandbox data is synthetic and may be reset or removed at any time.
3. Acceptable use
Build in good faith. Do not attempt to deanonymize users, exceed the access a user has granted, probe for vulnerabilities without authorization (see responsible disclosure below), or use the service to send spam or unlawful content.
4. Credentials
Keep client secrets and access tokens confidential and server-side. You are responsible for activity under your credentials. Access may be revoked at any time.
5. No warranty
The Developer Surfaces are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, accuracy, and non-infringement. HCVC does not warrant that the Developer Surfaces will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or available, and APIs may change under the published, versioned contract. This is an evolving beta, used at your own risk.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- No indirect damages. HCVC and its affiliates, owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents (the "HCVC Parties") will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to the Developer Surfaces or these terms, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other theory, and even if a HCVC Party was advised of the possibility of such damages.
- Liability cap. The HCVC Parties' total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Developer Surfaces or these terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees you paid to HCVC for the Developer Surfaces in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim (the Developer Surfaces are currently free, so this is normally zero) or (b) USD 100.
- Allocation of risk. These limits are a fundamental basis of the bargain and apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case the HCVC Parties' liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.
7. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the HCVC Parties from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your access to or use of the Developer Surfaces, your applications or data sources, any data you handle (including any health data you handle outside LifeCare.ID), or your breach of these terms or of applicable law.
8. Privacy of your email
The email you provide is stored to manage developer access (a whitelist you can be removed from on request). It is developer-account metadata, never linked to patient health data.
9. Responsible disclosure
Found a security issue? Email security@lifecare.id before disclosing publicly. We will work with you in good faith.
Questions: hello@lifecare.id. Accepting these terms records the version above against your email at the time of your access request.
